月曜日に東大生がいかに優れた能力を有しているかを示したテレビ番組を観た。彼ら
は、記憶力、外国語能力、計算能力、クイズに答える能力等で平均的な人達よりはる
かに優れていた。一般に、東大生は日本で最も能力が高い人達とみなされている。私
について言えば、私は平均もしくはそれ以下の能力しかない人間である。
私は彼らより優れたものは何も持っていない。
しかし家内は私をからかって「あることに全く才能が無いのにそれを得ようと努力する
ところは世界一ではないですか」と言った。私もそう思う。
私は才能がなくてもすごく努力する人は沢山才能を持っている人に勝つことができると
信じている。
I watched a TV program that showed the splendid talent of the
Tokyo university students on Monday. They were extremely superior than
average person in memorizing ability , understanding the foreign language,
calculation ability, answering ability for quiz etc.
Generally, the students of the Tokyo university are recognized to have
highest intelligence in Japan. For me, I am a person with an average or
even lower talent. I don't have any superior talent than them.
But my wife teased me and said that I am number one in the world in working hard
to get something even though I have no talent. I think so too.
I believe that people who are not talented but work very hard can compete
with people who have great talents.
